So, who watched the first half of Death Comes to Pemberley last night? What did you think? I really enjoyed it, and I especially liked Matthew Rhys and Anna Maxwell Martin. They were completely believable as the characters and as a couple. Rhys gave plenty of layers to Darcy, and his “I am going to be stuck dealing with this guy FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE” angst about Wickham was particularly good too. I really liked the way the show used flashbacks, too, both to Darcy’s childhood and to the events of Pride and Prejudice – I wasn’t really expecting to see these versions of the characters reenact book events, so that was a delightful treat. Your thoughts?
